First Aid for Mental Health Course Level 1, 2 & 3 – £POA

Level 1 – Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

This course is for you if you want to recognise common mental health conditions in yourself and others and what to recommend.

Level 2 – Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF): 

This course is for you if you’re an employer wanting to develop a positive mental health culture within the workplace. Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of a range of the most common mental health conditions and gain the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.

Level 3 – Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF):

This course is for you if you hold a a supervisor/managerial level position and have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture or First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation.

Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (Half-day course)

 

You will be taught a range of topics, and after completing the course you will:

  • Know what mental health is, why people might develop mental health conditions and the role of a Mental Health First Aider
  • Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person who may have a  suspected mental health condition
  • Know how to recognise and manage stress
  • Know how to recognise a range of mental health conditions (such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicide, self-harm)

Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (One-day course)

 

You will be taught a range of topics, and after completing the course you will:

  • Know what mental health is, why people might develop mental health conditions and the role of a Mental Health First Aider
  • Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person who may have a  suspected mental health condition
  • Know how to recognise and manage stress
  • Know how to recognise a range of mental health conditions (such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicide, self-harm)
  • Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
  • Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
  • Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace

Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (Two full days)

 

You will be taught a range of topics, and after completing the course you will:

  • Know what mental health is, why people might develop mental health conditions and the role of a Mental Health First Aider
  • Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person who may have a  suspected mental health condition
  • Know how to recognise and manage stress
  • Know how to recognise a range of mental health conditions (such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicide, self-harm)
  • Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
  • Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
  • Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
  • Understand a range of mental health disorders and the support / therapy provided by professional health care providers
    (Including Depression, PTSD, Suicide, Personality disorders, Psychosis, Anxiety, Self-harm, Eating disorders, Bipolar, Schizophrenia)
