The Level 3 Award in Education and Training, delivered by AET teachers and fully accredited by Qualsafe Awards, is the standard Initial Teacher Training course and the minimum needed to teach adults in the UK.
This course is perfect for employers and individuals. An employer gains expert trainers an individual opens up the possibility of career advancement or even career change into the training, teaching or lecturing area.
Taking pride in expertly supporting you to learn by combining theory and practical throughout the course, there are no exams and you are assessed by submitting a portfolio where you complete a bank of questions and can, if you wish, add in evidence collected during the face to face elements in our training centre.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the first step on the way to becoming a teacher of adults within the UK.
The objective of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training is to benefit learners by helping them to attain the knowledge and skills required to prepare them for teaching.
Learners will be helped to build an understanding of the roles and responsibilities related to planning and delivering training sessions.
Also work will be done on how to assess learners and how to give them constructive and developmental feedback.
This qualification provides an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work now or in the further education and skills sector.
That does not just mean in a college. It could be in Further Education (FE) Colleges, Independent Training Providers, Community Groups or Local Authorities.
This qualification contains 3 mandatory units with a total value of 12 credits.
Learners must complete all assessments in the units successfully to achieve the qualification.
The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 12 months. The actual period of the course will be agreed between the student and the provider on commencement of the course.
Each credit is equivalent to 10 hours learning time. Learning time consists of guided learning hours (GLH) and self-directed study.
GLH are a measure of the contact time a typical Learner will require in direct Trainer guidance to complete their programme of learning successfully, which for this qualification should be a minimum of 48 hours (excluding breaks).
This qual replaces the Level 3 and Level 4 Awards in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).
This qualification is only available at Level 3, however, learners can could progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF).
There is a minimum requirement for Learners to take part in microteaching. Microteaching is an activity where Learners prepare and deliver a short teaching and learning session to their peers and then evaluate their practice.
